This is what I found on PES on his youtube channel
"PES is one person, not a film collective or a production company.
"Clicking on a PES film is to open a safe and suddenly see a million ideas glittering and exploding," says Director Michel Gondry. "The only reason you close the door is to re-open it just after and discover what will pop this time." - Paste Magazine "
The film, Fresh Guacamole:
My personal say on it:
This made me hungry even though I know none of the ingredients are edible.... Anyway!
This short film uses the same idea as Western Spaghetti, which is making imaginary food from real life objects that remind us of the real ingredients.
All this is done in stopmotion. The animation itself is so well done too! The animation is a lot smoother than it's predecessor showed us, so congratulations on the progress.
It's most definitely creative, especially how they find objects that remind us so quickly of the real ingredients.
It is very original in it's concept, I mean I've never seen anything like this before. But how much different is this really from Western Spaghetti? It's the same basic idea, different ingredients (pun inte-... Oh nevermind).
Ofcourse it does have its charm, and I guess if it succeeds in making me hungry then it's successful in its purpose! Also I did want to know what other objects were to come, what objects would they throw into the recipe, so it did spark my curiosity for a bit there.
I do feel though, that it doesn't compare to what they did with Adam and Dog. Comparatively Fresh Guacamole's story is pretty much non existent and it has less purpose than Adam and Dog; it just wants to spark curiosity and amaze us with our own brain's ability to make connections with reality.
Next to that (and relation to that), it feels like they put a lot more time into Adam and Dog comparatively. I know that doesn't make something better than something else, but I have more appreciation for what was done with Adam and Dog.
It was cool to see, but in my opinion not a winner in the Academy Awards.
It has been some time since I animated videos visited website with such high quality information. Thank you so much for providing such helpful information. This is really informative and I will for sure refer my friends the same. Thanks.
